National Stroke Week (14.09.-20.09.2015) Review

National Stroke Week (14.09.-20.09.2015) Review

We took part in the National Stroke Week (organised by the Stroke Foundation) between the 14th and the 20th of September, and we were excited about the willingness and support from our local community.

Many people came and saw us, to have a free Know your numbers health check and go in the draw to win a FitBit Flex, which was kindly donated by the Stroke Foundation.

Eileen took Mrs Olsen blood pressure and health check.

On Friday evening we drew the winner and we are thrilled to announce that Mr Terry Holland from our local Post Office won the FitBit Flex. He was very excited as well and he is wearing it with pride.

Everyday we offer blood pressure checks as well as cardiovascular and diabetes risk assessment, and a chance to chat about any health concerns. Just come and see us, no appointment needed.

Here is some information about STROKE:

One Australian suffers a stroke every 10 minutes. That’s 1000 strokes every week!

Almost 440,000 Australians currently live as a survivor of stroke – and the number grows every day.

Even when it doesn’t kill, stroke can leave survivors with life-limiting disabilities. The majority of strokes can be prevented, so make sure you stop by for your free health check.
