The newest craze in Facebook has finally been rolled out inside the business community.
Once strictly for “celebrities” and held only within verified mentions pages, the feature was first noticed in business pages earlier in 2016.
The live streaming ability takes on powers like Periscope as Facebook seeks to eclipse any need to leave its platform.
“Live is like having a TV camera in your pocket. Anyone with a phone now has the power to broadcast to anyone in the world,” CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on his Facebook page. “This is a big shift in how we communicate, and it’s going to create new opportunities for people to come together.”
The most lucrative use I can see is in the hard to navigate world of customer engagement. As the tool is now available in groups, the need to set up a webinar (create fancy graphic, create account, invite guests, promote to registered guests, navigate tech issues) is superseded.
Simply grow your member or customer loyalty within a secret Facebook group, and hold regular, secret Live sessions with them.
Especially within low tech savvy groups, this is a remarkable opportunity, hot on the heels of Google Hangouts direct link invitation improvement (which doesn’t require invited guests to have an account).
Member feedback, loyalty & retention improve markedly with increased engagement.
Allowing a free, fluid & realtime conversation open doors to authentic, high quality interactions.
One of our hottest members (mechanics) are already planning a live stream of their car racing activity over the weekend.
To see the creative potential within our small town community is simply inspiring!
I’ll be Live streaming to the secret “Shop My Town Superstars” group every Wednesday.
This will create a portal for our remote members to connect with our head office team, learn about the latest digital marketing trends, and ask any questions they like!
Good bye clunky Webinars!!
